FMG has over 25 years of sea bed leveling experience and was one of the first companies to bring this process to the port sector on the eastern seaboard, the purpose of sea bed leveling is to redistribute seafloor material, commonly siltation, from an undesirable location to a location that better fits with the ports operational requirements. This process does not require the material to be removed from the subsea environment and results in deeper channels and berth pockets for our clients.
Over time we have developed what can be only described as purpose built and custom designed equipment that can be deployed with project efficiency and environmental impacts as our first consideration. We do not believe that one size fits all and we have developed different types of ground engagement equipment to suit different materials and different port locations where the sea state can directly impact the operation of sea floor equipment.
Our primary Bed Leveling vessel the Pacific Tiger has been outfitted with top of the range RTK GPS systems, Quinsey software, WASSP Multi-Beam sea floor mapping equipment, Realtime tide data, Digital equipment depth monitoring and custom built computer software to ensure the efficacy of the operation is first class. We only deploy crew with vast experience in the sector as the projects are often time critical to due to active Port Operations.
